How are we planning to help kids enjoy screen free time?

Passive Attention

Screens draw kids into quick consumption: quick stimuli, no real involvement, no independent thinking. Their attention span is overloaded instead of trained.

Active Attention

Nuvio encourages movement, interaction and decision-making. Chlildren are in control - this way their attention span is being trained instead of diminished.

Imagination is being replaced

Screens deliver ready-made worlds and block our own imagination. Creative processes are stifled.

Imagination stays strong

Atmospheres, sounds and haptic elements encourage kids to create their own worlds - promoting creativity, communication and role-play.

Healthy regulation

Gentle stimuli, clear routines and slower interactions help children wind down. Less overstimulation promotes better sleep and more balance.

Overstimulation

Quick cuts, high brightness and dopamin loops overexcert childrens nervous system and disrupt sleep, regulation and rest.

"Relieving parents and enriching kids"

In my years working in childcare, I have noticed more and more that children have trouble entertaining themselves and that screens are often used by overworked parents as a simple form of entertainment.

I want children to be able to occupy themselves independently and meaningfully. I also want to relieve parents so that screen time is no longer necessary.

To achieve this, we are developing a product that captivates children and shows them once again how valuable it is to engage in meaningful activities.

Thanks to my years of experience in childcare and my technical training, I have a good understanding of how to use the latest technology to enrich children's lives.

I hope that Nuvio will give children a toy that motivates them to play independently and enriches their lives.

More from Leonie

As a father, I find it frightening to see more and more children glued to screens for hours on end, becoming more irritable, sleeping poorly, and losing creativity and imagination.

To give children back these experiences, I want to develop a toy that motivates them to express themselves creatively and imaginatively, while also supporting them in doing so. To make this possible, we are taking aspects of screen entertainment and transforming them into screen-free applications. Above all, experiencing guided stories and making decisions in adventure worlds should encourage children to engage in creative activities themselves.

To ensure the quality of the product, I am in constant communication with other parents so that our product can help them disconnect their children from screens.

My fondest childhood memories are not spent in front of screens, but outside in the woods or in the living room, where we built bed castles and defended them as knights.

My goal is to bring back a time when children don't need screen time, enjoy keeping themselves busy, and let their imaginations run wild with Nuvio.
